Job Summary
Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department independently plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care using standards of care and policies. Provides direct nursing care to patients, assumes teaching and leadership responsibilities, participates in quality improvement and shared decision making, and collaborates with inter-professional teams. Requires ED experience or fellowship participation for new graduates; certifications including BLS, ALS, and PALS are required, with ENPC/TNCC desirable. Must be licensed as an RN/APRN in Florida and able to work in a fast-paced ER environment. Rotations and cross-training across ED areas, precepting new staff, and contributing to safe, evidence-based care are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as RN in acute care required
- At least one year of Emergency or one year of pediatric ICU acute experience required
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- ENPC desirable
- TNCC desirable
- New graduates may be considered for Emergency Department fellowship program
- BSN preferred
