Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients presenting with various acuities across a 38-bed emergency department. Perform physical and psychosocial assessments, formulate plans of care, and document patient concerns in electronic records. Coordinate activities of ancillary staff including paramedics, techs, and behavioral health personnel to ensure quality patient outcomes. Communicate critical issues to charge nurses, clinical managers, and physicians as appropriate. Maintain standards of practice while providing patient education and identifying teaching opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS Certification
- PALS Certification
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree Preferred
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred
- NIH highly preferred, must obtain within allotted timeframe
- CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate)
- NRP by the end of orientation period
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU ACLS
- PEARS Certification
