Job Summary

Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced clinical Emergency Department environment, prioritizing care for a broad range of populations while maintaining department throughput. Implement and evaluate patient care plans based on assessments to optimize outcomes, and monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions to a multidisciplinary team. Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate transfers, discharges, and referrals, and delegate care to ancillary personnel. Precept student nurses and new hires within scope. Requires state RN licensure, BLS certification, and 6 months of nursing experience. Full-time, 72-hour night shift.

Required Qualifications

  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
  • BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
  • Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses OR Trauma Nurse Core Course within 6 months of hire
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course OR PALS Certification within 6 months of hire
  • Advanced Crisis Prevention Intervention within 1 year hire
  • 6 months of nursing (RN) experience
  • Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience
  • Critical thinking skills
