Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for a diverse population in a 35-bed Level II Trauma Center using the nursing process. Partner with physicians and residents to provide quality care under Nurse Leader direction while developing teaching strategies and documenting education for patients and families. Manage patient flow through the RN Greeter location and utilize split rooming processes to optimize care delivery. This role supports Corewell Health's Magnet designation and serves as the base teaching hospital for Michigan State University. Night shift coverage is required with 36 weekly hours from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Diploma in Nursing
- Bachelor's in Nursing
- MI Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke certification
- NCLEX licensure examination
- ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer
- TNCC within 1 year of hire/transfer
- ENPC within 15 months of hire/transfer
- Prefer RN experience
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
- Must comply with MMR, Varicella, Tdap, and Influenza vaccine requirement
