Job Summary
The RN in the Emergency Center provides professional nursing care under the ANA scope of practice, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge patients. Responsibilities include partnering with patients and families, delivering patient-family centered care, documenting education and care in the health record, and collaborating with the Nurse Leader. The unit is a Level II trauma center with specialties in heart and vascular services and stroke. The role requires orientation to EC-focused practices and adherence to Corewell Health policies. The position is night shift, full-time, at Dearborn Hospital in Dearborn, MI, with variable weekend coverage. Graduate Nurses will be considered.
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required
- Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke
- ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer
- TNCC within 1 year of hire/transfer
- ENPC within 15 months of hire/transfer
- Specialty Certification highly recommended within 2 years
- Will consider Graduate Nurses
