Job Summary
Design, implement, and evaluate orientation, compliance, and continuing education programs for facility staff while serving as a clinical mentor to new nurses, preceptors, and leadership teams. Schedule, teach, and lead BLS and IV certification programs; perform staff vaccinations, health screenings, and assigned medical testing. Collaborate with unit managers and preceptors to support annual clinical competency testing and coordinate mandatory corporate in-service education. Track and report education compliance using the Learning Management System, prepare monthly calendars, and lead emergency preparedness drills including fire, disaster, and Code Blue scenarios.
Required Qualifications
- Credentials of a Registered Professional nurse with a current NYS license
- Experience in in-service education or skills in teaching
- at least one year experience in a long-term health care facility
- Ability to work cooperatively with personnel at all levels
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence
- ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
