Job Summary
Design and evaluate orientation, compliance, and continuing education programs for facility staff. Serve as a clinical mentor and resource for new nurses, preceptors, and leadership teams. Lead BLS and IV certification programs, coordinate mandatory in-service education, and deliver CNA and Support Aide orientation. Perform staff vaccinations, health screenings, and assigned medical testing. Collaborate with unit managers to support annual clinical competency testing and oversee tracking of in-service education hours via the Learning Management System. Plan and deliver emergency preparedness drills including fire, disaster, and Code Blue scenarios. Prepare monthly education calendars and reports to ensure staff remain current with evolving clinical standards.
Required Qualifications
- Credentials of a Registered Professional nurse with a current NYS license
- Experience in in-service education or skills in teaching
- at least one year experience in a long-term health care facility
- Ability to work cooperatively with personnel at all levels
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence
- read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
