Job Summary
Design, implement, and evaluate orientation, compliance, and continuing education programs for facility staff. Serve as a clinical mentor and resource for new nurses, Nurse Preceptors, and leadership teams. Schedule, teach, and lead BLS and IV certification programs while performing staff vaccinations and health screenings. Collaborate with Unit Managers and Preceptors to support annual clinical competency testing and coordinate mandatory corporate in-service education. Track and report education compliance using the Learning Management System. Plan and deliver CNA and Support Aide orientation programs, including Prometric testing coordination. Coordinate emergency preparedness drills and maintain documentation. Prepare monthly education calendars and reports.
Required Qualifications
- Credentials of a Registered Professional nurse with a current NYS license
- Experience in in-service education
- skills in teaching
- at least one year experience in a long-term health care facility
- Ability to work cooperatively with personnel at all levels
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence
- ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
