Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment, prioritizing care for a broad range of psych populations while maintaining department throughput. Develop and evaluate patient care plans based on assessments to optimize outcomes, and monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions to a multidisciplinary team. Collaborate on patient transfers, discharges, and referrals, while addressing spiritual and psychosocial support needs. Assess learning needs for patients or families and deliver age-appropriate education; delegate care to ancillary staff and precept student nurses or new hires. Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Full-time night shift role with 72 hours per pay period.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- 6 months of nursing (RN) experience
- ACLS 6 months from hire
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of recent psych RN experience strongly preferred
