RN-ED PRN position providing direct patient care in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include acting as a clinical resource, overseeing delivery of patient care and delegating to nursing staff and home health aides based on patient needs, coordinating care with families and multiple disciplines, ensuring informed consent and patient rights, and maintaining current knowledge of nursing practice standards. The role involves patient and family teaching, effective communication within the nursing team, on-call triage and visits as needed, supervision of staff under Medicare/Medicaid rules, and pursuing educational needs related to common ICD-9/diagnoses.
