Job Summary
RN-ED PRN position providing direct patient care in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include acting as a clinical resource, overseeing delivery of patient care and delegating to nursing staff and home health aides based on patient needs, coordinating care with families and multiple disciplines, ensuring informed consent and patient rights, and maintaining current knowledge of nursing practice standards. The role involves patient and family teaching, effective communication within the nursing team, on-call triage and visits as needed, supervision of staff under Medicare/Medicaid rules, and pursuing educational needs related to common ICD-9/diagnoses. Required Qualifications
- Degree from accredited nursing program (ADN minimum)
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required
- BLS required for all RN roles
- ACLS required for Emergency Department, Critical Care, Cardiovascular Lab, GI Lab, Interventional Radiology, Progressive Care, Surgical Services Pre-Op and Recovery Room
- NRP for Family Birthing Center, Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Mother/Baby Care
- PALS for Children Services, Cardiovascular Lab, Emergency Department, GI Lab, Interventional Radiology, Surgical Services Pre-Op and Recovery Room
- Certification from AHA, ASHI, or Red Cross
- On-call duties with triage capability
- PRN/Varied Days and Hours
- Experience in home health coordination and staff supervision
