Job Summary
RN - ED role providing direct patient care in the Emergency Department as a registered nurse. Responsibilities include overseeing delivery of patient care, directing and delegating tasks to home health aides and nursing staff based on patient acuity, coordinating care with patients, families, physicians and community resources, ensuring informed consent and patient education, maintaining proficiency with equipment and EPIC charting, and participating in on-call duties and triage. Requires nursing license (NM or compact), ADN preparation, BLS; ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications as specified; and ability to supervise staff and adhere to Medicare/Medicaid rules. Per diem/PRN schedule with varied days and hours.
Required Qualifications
- Degree from accredited academic nursing program (minimum ADN preparation)
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required
- Certification from either AHA, ASHI, or Red Cross (BLS for all RN roles)
- ACLS (ED/CC/CVL/GI/IR/PCU/Surgical Services)
- NRP (Family Birthing Center, L&D, NICU)
- PALS (Children Services, ED, CVL)
