Job Summary
Assess and triage patients with a wide range of medical conditions, administering medications, IV therapies, and wound care while monitoring vital signs and responding to changes in patient condition. Initiate life-saving interventions during emergencies such as cardiac arrest and respiratory distress, providing emotional support to patients and families in high-stress situations. Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records and communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans. This 0.9 fte position involves rotating 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, and two weekends every six weeks. Salary ranges from $36.73 to $51.43 per hour with a sign-on bonus eligible.
Required Qualifications
- Current State of Minnesota RN license
- Current American Heart BLS certification
- Current American Heart ACLS certification
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EPIC) and documentation standards
- Compassionate, patient-centered care
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient advocacy skills
- Utilize critical thinking to manage rapidly changing patient conditions
- Initiate life-saving interventions during medical emergencies
- Emergency Response to medical and surgical patients
- Cross-train to Emergency Department or OB to assist as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions
- Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Provide wound care, manage surgical incisions, and prevent infection
- Monitor vital signs and promptly respond to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and postoperative treatments safely
- Must work well under pressure and be sensitive to concerns and confidentiality of the patient
- Ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds with professionalism and care
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
