Job Summary
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse position in Culver City provides prompt, critical care across emergent, urgent, and life-threatening presentations. Responsibilities include professional nursing care with psychosocial, psychomotor, and age-appropriate assessment; planning, intervention, and advocacy; evaluating patient responses and discharge readiness; mentoring new graduates and support staff; collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care; managing medications, invasive lines, cardiac monitoring, ventilator support, and adherence to infection control and HIPAA standards. Requires CA RN licensure, graduate of an accredited nursing program, BLS, ACLS, PALS, EMTALA/ESI 5 triage knowledge, and 1 year ED experience (or ED training); de-escalation certification on hire with SAMA certification on recertification. Preferred qualifications include BSN, bilingual ability, CEN, and SAMA certification. Pay rate supports 12-hour evening/mid shifts with a sign-on bonus and a focus on professional clinical practice, care planning, collaboration, communication, teaching, and leadership in the ED.
Required Qualifications
- Active, current, and unencumbered Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
- AHA Basic Life Support
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only)
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- One year of previous emergency nursing experience or completion of emergency department training course (to include EMTALA and ESI 5 level triage within first six months of employment as RN in the Emergency Department)
- De-escalation certification upon hire; Upon recertification, SAMA Certification required
