Job Summary
Plan, develop, organize, implement, and direct the overall operation of the Nursing department to ensure exceptional resident care and compliance with applicable laws and Life Care standards. Recruit, select, hire, train, evaluate, counsel, and supervise nursing staff, including assigning appropriate levels of CNAs and LPNs per shift. Effectively manage the department budget and direct care provided by the nursing team while performing staff nurse functions as required. Liaise with patients, families, and support departments to plan for patient needs, collect and analyze data, and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Maintain professional relationships with associates and vendors, ensuring adherence to company policies, the Code of Conduct, and all regulatory guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of an ASN degree from accredited college or university
- Currently licensed/registered in applicable State
- Must maintain an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing throughout employment
- Two (2) years supervisory experience in a post acute care or related setting
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation
- CPR certification must remain current during employment
- Expert knowledge in field of practice
- Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
- Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
- Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
