Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to acute renal failure and end-stage renal disease patients on a 7-bay hemodialysis inpatient unit. Perform technical procedures using dialysis equipment, conduct bedside treatments in the unit or at the critical care and medical units, and apply the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Partner with patients and families to develop teaching strategies, document education and care plans accurately, and ensure timely patient record documentation. Work variable day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm with a part-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Associates in Nursing
- Bachelors in Nursing
- MI Registered Nurse (RN)
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Minimum of 2 years of related acute care experience (for external candidates)
- Successful completion of a competency assessment provided by nursing education
- Approval by current nurse leader and site Chief Nursing Officer (for internal candidates with less than 2 years of clinical experience)
- Unit-based PRN (casual) employee status until reaching 2 years of nursing experience
Desired Qualifications
- Specialty Certification (highly recommended within 2 years)
