Job Summary
Render professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician treatment plans, assessing conditions, administering prescribed drugs, and observing progress. Assist physicians with cases, procedures, or examinations while developing or assisting in patient treatment plans. Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and promote trust, ensuring attentive communication and follow-up actions as needed. Collect, analyze, and interpret data to solve clinical problems, while performing physical tasks such as lifting patients and operating gurneys. Requires Bachelor's degree, Illinois RN licensure, and ACLS certification. Flexible per diem hours Monday through Friday with rotating weekends and on-call availability.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- A relatively high level of analytical ability
- A relatively high level of communication skills
- Ability to walk or stand for an hour of more at a time
- Ability to lift or carry objects weighing more than 20 pounds
- Ability to push or pull laundry or supply carts, gurneys or wheelchairs
- Ability to lift and position patients
- Ability to proofread and check documents for errors
- Ability to use a keyboard to enter, retrieve or transform words or data
- Ability to closely examine specimens, images, or reports
