Job Summary
Render professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician treatment plans while assessing conditions, administering prescribed drugs, and observing progress. Assist physicians with cases, procedures, or examinations and develop or assist in developing patient treatment plans. Deliver customer service by explaining procedures to reduce patient anxiety and promote trust. Collect, analyze, and interpret data to solve problems requiring professional knowledge in a specific discipline. This per diem role at Elmhurst Hospital requires a Bachelor's degree in nursing, current Illinois licensure, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification. Critical Care experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- A relatively high level of analytical ability
- A relatively high level of communication skills
- Ability to walk or stand for an hour of more at a time
- Ability to lift or carry objects weighing more than 20 pounds
- Ability to push or pull laundry or supply carts, gurneys or wheelchairs
- Ability to lift and position patients
- Ability to proofread and check documents for errors
- Ability to use a keyboard to enter, retrieve or transform words or data
- Ability to closely examine specimens, images, or reports
