Job Summary
Oversee direct and indirect nursing care for individuals enrolled in the day habilitation Program, administering medications and treatments per physician orders. Supervise staff, educate families and providers on hygiene and health protocols, and coordinate daily service plans with primary care physicians and residential facilities. Monitor vital signs and health status monthly, document progress notes and medical plans, and report deviations to the interdisciplinary team. Participate in quality improvement, behavior support initiatives, and periodic reviews of member needs while maintaining updated medication and diagnosis records.
Required Qualifications
- Must be licensed as a registered nurse with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Have a least one year of relevant experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning allegations from Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Tuberculosis screening within the 12 previous months.
- Must be fluent in English.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals under supervision, employees of the organization, families, and members of the community.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
