Job Summary
Manage all aspects of nursing care for perioperative patients in the preoperative phase and immediate post-operative phase through discharge. Perform pre-admission, preop, and PACU nurse duties, including pre-anesthesia testing and Surgical Day Care. Demonstrate critical thinking and confident decision-making in a fast-paced clinical environment while communicating effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Requires current Massachusetts RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, plus one to two years of PACU experience. Includes day/evening 12-hour shifts with weekend and holiday on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts RN License in good standing
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- Current American Heart Association ACLS certifications
- Current American Heart Association PALS certifications
- One to Two years of current PACU experience
- Recovery of patients over a continuum of care from general, regional or local anesthesia and moderate sedation
