Job Summary
Deliver medical and nursing services to children and young adults in residential programs by completing physical and mental health assessments, administering immunizations and medications, and providing diabetic care. Monitor client status, communicate changes to physicians, and ensure accurate documentation for Department of Child Services passports. Participate in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings, audit charts, and maintain compliance with safety policies. Work the day shift on a rotating schedule at the main campus in Indianapolis.
Required Qualifications
- Indiana nursing license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
- Valid Indiana driver's license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar's insurance carrier
- Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
- Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
- Favorably meet and maintain Damar's background screening
- Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements
Desired Qualifications
- One year of experience working with neuropsychiatric or behavioral challenges and/or individuals identifying with the DD/ID population preferred
- Knowledge of current trends and research in the use of psychotropic medications with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
