Job Summary
Conduct perioperative assessments for surgical patients in collaboration with the surgical team. Assist surgeons during operative procedures under direction and participate in postoperative rounds to evaluate patient progress. Assess patients and family members' knowledge levels, providing appropriate education. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned. This role requires an Associate degree in nursing, RNFA program completion, and two years of perioperative nursing experience. Full-time positions (0.9 FTE or greater) are eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus. Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare serves as a regional leader in advanced care across North Florida and South Georgia.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing
- Successful completion of a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) program accredited by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN)
- Two (2) years of perioperative registered nursing experience
- Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (F.S.), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure]
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) certified instructor
- Acceptance of a full-time position (0.9 FTE or greater)
- If a former employee, must have been separated from the organization for at least 12 months
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Two (2) years of perioperative first assistance experience
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) credential from AORN
- Registered Nurse Assistant at Surgery (RNAS-C) credential from the National Assistant at Surgery Certification (NASC)
- Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) credential from NASC
