Job Summary
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans for incarcerated patients. Collect and document health information, laboratory results, and diagnostic tests to monitor patient needs, while administering medications and treatments within the correctional system framework. Provide direct nursing care during routine and emergency situations, ensuring compliance with security protocols and federal/state regulations. Maintain professional boundaries, participate in continuous quality improvement activities, and share clinical knowledge with peers. Requires a valid RN license, current tuberculosis documentation, active CPR certification, and background investigation clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in applicable state
- Current tuberculosis documentation
- Active CPR certification
- Ability to pass background investigation
- Ability to obtain agency security clearance where applicable
- Prior experience providing nursing care
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
- Must possess general good health
- Sufficient stamina, agility, and visual and auditory acuity
- Ability to lift, carry, or push weight up to 40 pounds
- Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations
- Ability to handle stressful or adverse situations
- Ability to remain calm while handling volatile, threatening, or emergency situations
- Ability to work effectively under difficult conditions
- Must be able to travel between multiple facilities
