Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle while maintaining organizational standards of practice. Coordinate patient care activities for all assigned staff to ensure quality delivery across a 310-bed facility offering emergency services, surgery, cardiac care, and rehabilitation. Requires current Georgia RN licensure, BCLS, and ACLS certification (with new residents completing additional specialty certifications within 180 days). One year of hospital experience is required for PRN positions, though new graduates are eligible. This role supports a team providing compassionate, patient-centered care including robotic surgery, cancer survivorship programs, and a birthing center with Level III NICU access.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a nursing program
- No experience required
- New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate)
- ACLS and PALS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration
- PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital
- PEARS or PALS Certification - required at Piedmont Athens Hospital
- PreOp/PACU/ENDO/CSU ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients
- Labor and Delivery-ACLS Certification
- NRP by the end of orientation period
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date
- NAT (Newborn Admission Team)- NRP by the end of orientation period
- Nursery- NRP by the end of orientation period
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree Preferred
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
