Job Summary
Develop a comprehensive plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes and systematically evaluates patient progress. Conduct patient assessments, collect health data, and communicate plans to physicians and the interdisciplinary team while documenting all interventions. Individualize patient and family teaching based on specific learning needs, cultural backgrounds, and barriers, covering disease management, emergency care, and drug information. Provide psychological support to nurture a compassionate environment and assist technical staff with injections, venipuncture, and IV management. Participate in performance improvement activities, nursing research, and daily rounds for wound/ostomy/skin care patients to support evidence-based practice.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing
- If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor?s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective September 1, 2021)
- Current incumbents with an RN Diploma are grandfathered
- RN Diploma Nurse if position start date is prior to September 1, 2021
- Active Illinois State Nursing License
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- American Heart Association (AHA,) Basic Life Support (BLS)
- 1 year of inpatient nursing experience
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor?s Degree or higher in Nursing
- 1 Year ICU or ER experience
- 1 Year radiology nursing experience
- 1 Year Wound/ostomy experience
- Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) - Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB)
- Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) - Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB)
