Job Summary
Assess patient needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse patient, family, and interdisciplinary groups. Lead and manage nursing team resources while effectively delegating duties to licensed and ancillary staff. Use the nursing process to evaluate outcomes, promote change, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Adapt communication styles to specific patient populations and maintain sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity. Work in a patient care area with exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications.
Required Qualifications
- Registered nurse diploma
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- Occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases
- Exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing
- Certification in clinical specialty area
