Job Summary
Assess patient needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse groups, utilizing the Nursing Process to deliver care. Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources while serving as a leader on the Interdisciplinary Team. Evaluate data to promote change and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Work in a patient care area with exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications. Requires current RN license, BLS certification, and proficiency with Windows-style applications.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse Diploma
- Current RN License in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- Occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases
- Occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Certification in clinical specialty area
