Job Summary
Conduct pre-implant, post-implant, and inpatient mechanical circulatory support activities while acting as a patient advocate and educator. Independently monitor patients, manage outpatient clinics, and review patient cases with transplant physicians. Provide care to individuals of all age groups, educate nursing staff, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Adapt communication styles to specific patient populations and participate in quality initiatives and professional growth activities. Requires 3 years of related nursing experience or 2 years with a bachelor's degree, current RN license, and BLS/ACLS certifications. Works on-call 24/7 with ability to travel between facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 3 years of related experience with an associate degree in nursing
- 2 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree in nursing
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to travel between facilities and work on call 24/7
- Ability to lift 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to lift 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to lift 20 pounds of force constantly
- Residence in an eligible location (not Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, Washington D.C.)
