RN Clinician Charge

Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and direct daily operations for a specific clinical unit shift while supervising staff and facilitating communication with physicians and administrators. Lead efforts to strengthen organizational systems, model expert delegation using the Synergy model, and mentor other Registered Nurses into the Charge Nurse role. Resolve conflicts between staff, counsel employees on performance issues, and serve as an arbitrator in disputes. Coordinate unit staffing, manage resources for cost containment, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Identify managerial problems, initiate tests of change, and prepare for regulatory agency reviews. Complete required reports, performance reviews, and educational programs to maintain position within the Clinical Nurse I Employee Commitments.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 2 years of recent nursing experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of concentration
- A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- BLS certification
- Must meet all Clinical Nurse Employee Commitments
- Achieves electives/points and contact hours as defined in the PLAN (clinical lattice) point system to maintain position
- Must complete UCN/SNM criteria requirements within nine (9) months of promotion or hire
- Completion of Enhancing your Communication HLC#6488
- Completion of formal preceptor training workshop
- Enrollment in LEAP course
Desired Qualifications
- MSN or DNP
- ACLS certification
