Job Summary
Organize, plan, and direct patient care for the EmPATH Unit using the Watson Model of Care, while acting as the primary liaison to Medical Staff and Care Management. Anticipate staffing needs, assign beds and personnel based on acuity and skills, and deliver direct patient care when required. Maintain a safe environment, resolve conflicts involving patients and families, and participate in quality improvement plans and performance evaluations. Provide education, coaching, and remediation to staff, and assist in the interview process for new unit applicants.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Associate in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or equivalent
- Bachelor of Science degree preferred
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in Acute Inpatient or Outpatient Mental Health setting
- Knowledgeable of mental health regulatory guidelines and standards of practice
- Charge nurse experience
- Current California Nursing license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Must complete the annual Workplace Violence Prevention Program/Certificate, per hospital policy, during initial training/orientation, but not to exceed 30 days from hire/transfer
Desired Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science degree preferred
- Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish)
- Basic computer skills
- LPS Designated within 1 year of hire is preferred
- Experience with an Electronic Medical Record preferred
