Job Summary
RN Clinical Reviewer position in Jericho or Albany, NY; full-time, temp-to-hire. Conduct clinical reviews of medical records related to maternal death or adverse events in outpatient surgical procedures, developing narrative summaries for NYS Department of Health, tracking case status in Excel, and performing duties to support quality improvement and patient safety. Requires a baccalaureate degree in nursing or RN program graduation, NYS RN licensure, and 4+ years of clinical practice with OB/maternal health experience; 2+ years of acute care hospital experience; strong analytical, communication, and Microsoft Office skills. Competitive pay at $60/hour with benefits; 5 sick days; health insurance; primarily office-based with on-site work in NY facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or graduate of an approved Registered Professional Nurses training program
- Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in New York State
- Minimum four years of clinical practice experience in medical/surgical/obstetrical settings
- Minimum two years of acute care hospital experience
- Experience in reviewing charts for quality improvement or utilization review (preferred)
- OB/maternal health background
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Proficient in standard office technology including Word and Excel
- Ability to gather and analyze information from records and reports
