Job Summary
Coordinate patient care activities and lead shift huddles to review census and operational concerns in the Emergency Room. Accept patient assignments as needed, monitor patient status, and facilitate timely transitions to Med/Surg beds. Provide clinical leadership by mentoring staff, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulations. Support staffing levels, oversee mandatory training, and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient care delivery.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved Registered Nurse training program
- Ability to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate Emergency Room operations as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work effectively in a complex clinical environment and interpret, analyze, and present complex information clearly and accurately
- Ability to delegate responsibilities appropriately, with the necessary authority, while maintaining overall accountability for assigned tasks
- Ability to identify concerns in a timely manner, develop and implement effective solutions, evaluate outcomes, and adjust plans as needed
- Ability to demonstrate effective leadership by working collaboratively with clinical staff, delegating according to individual skill levels, and modeling appropriate professional behavior
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Current, unencumbered Georgia Registered Nurse license
- BLS certification
- PALS certification
- ACLS certification
- At least three years of nursing experience
- Proficient computer skills including effective use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to navigate and document accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR), review patient information, enter required documentation, and use electronic systems to support safe and efficient patient care
Desired Qualifications

- Critical care experience
- Recent experience caring for cardiac and stroke patients
- TNCC certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
