Job Summary
Develop and deliver evidence-based clinical education programs to enhance the competency of nurses and other clinicians. Create, revise, and evaluate educational materials, curricula, and instructional methodologies based on organizational objectives. Facilitate orientation, onboarding, and training programs for new hires, including nurses and other clinical staff. Conduct workshops, in-service sessions, and continuing education programs to support staff development and regulatory compliance. Design processes to assess, validate, and document clinical competencies for nursing and clinical staff. Collaborate with unit leaders and preceptors to ensure competency-based performance appraisals align with organizational and regulatory standards. Monitor and evaluate clinical staff performance and competency attainment through observation, simulation, and outcome-based metrics. Maintain thorough understanding of state and federal regulations, including Joint Commission standards, to ensure compliance in all clinical education programs. Serve as subject matter expert on clinical practices, providing guidance on regulatory updates, clinical policies, and procedures. Lead initiatives to integrate evidence-based practices into clinical workflows and education programs. Collaborate with clinical managers and leaders to identify knowledge gaps and training needs, aligning educational initiatives with strategic goals. Serves as mentor and resource for clinical staff, fostering a supportive learning environment. Exercises discretion and independent judgment in tailoring educational interventions to address complex clinical challenges and organizational priorities. Participates in quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and strategic planning to enhance patient care outcomes and staff development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS or AHA-CPR or ARC-CPR
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Three years' of recent experience in an acute care setting
- One year experience in clinical education or staff development
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Other professional certifications
