Job Summary
Develop and implement evidence-based clinical education programs to enhance the competency of nurses and other clinicians. Create, revise, and evaluate educational materials, curricula, and instructional methodologies based on organizational objectives and evidence-based practices. Facilitate orientation, onboarding, and training programs for new hires, including nurses and other clinical staff. Conduct workshops, in-service sessions, and continuing education programs to support staff development and regulatory compliance. Design processes to assess, validate, and document clinical competencies through observation, simulation, and outcome-based metrics. Collaborate with unit leaders and preceptors to ensure competency-based performance appraisals align with Joint Commission standards. Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal regulations to ensure compliance in all clinical education programs. Serve as a mentor and resource for clinical staff, fostering a supportive learning environment. Exercises discretion and independent judgment in tailoring educational interventions to address complex clinical challenges and organizational priorities. Participates in quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and strategic planning to enhance patient care outcomes and staff development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Other professional certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS or AHA-CPR or ARC-CPR
- All required vaccinations as a condition of employment
- E-Verify participation and acknowledgment of Right to Work notices
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Three years' of recent experience in an acute care setting
- One year experience in clinical education or staff development
