Job Summary
RN Clinical Nurse Practice Specialist (CNPS) dedicated to OB services (Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Antepartum) provides clinical nursing expertise, supports staff education and competency development, identifies education needs, leads quality and evidence-based practice improvement initiatives, and collaborates with Nursing Leadership to develop and implement policies, procedures, and patient-care protocols. Responsibilities include mentoring nurses, delivering just-in-time education and presentations, collaborating across the organization to promote evidence-based nursing practices, and guiding the integration and evaluation of technology to enhance safety, quality, and patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Nursing (required)
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (required)
- BLS (required)
- Neonatal Resuscitation (required)
- Current nursing specialty certification; if none, certification required within one year of assuming role.
- 5+ years clinical experience in a medical center, hospital environment or academic setting (required)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility in work schedule
- Ability to interact with interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Commitment to teamwork and professional development
- Presentation skills to educate audiences throughout the organization
