Job Summary
RN Clinical Nurse Practice Specialist (CNPS) for OB Services (Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Antepartum) provides expert clinical nursing support, education, and consultation. Serves as educator, consultant, and clinical expert; ensures evidence-based practices are applied to optimize patient care, nurse performance, and organizational systems. Responsibilities include assessing education needs, developing and modifying patient care plans, identifying practice gaps, leading quality initiatives, promoting evidence-based policies and protocols, and collaborating with nursing leadership to implement staff development programs. Travel to other Endeavor Health hospitals is required. This is a full-time role (0.9 FTE) with Monday–Friday daytime hours. Location: Elmhurst Hospital, Elmhurst, IL.
Required Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Nursing (required)
- RN license in the state of Illinois
- BLS - American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation - American Heart Association
- Current nursing specialty certification; if none, certification required within one year of assuming role.
- 5+ years clinical experience in a medical center, hospital environment or academic setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility in work schedule
- Ability to interact with interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Commitment to teamwork and continued professional development
