Job Summary
Lead and manage the clinical operations of the Abdominal Transplant Program, overseeing patient care, staff management, and program development. Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical protocols, procedures, and best practices to ensure optimal transplant services. Provide leadership in clinical decision-making, resource allocation, and performance improvement initiatives. Facilitate educational opportunities for staff and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Engage in strategic planning and program expansion efforts to meet the evolving needs of patients and the healthcare community. Manage daily operations including forecasting staffing, taking departmental call, and serving as charge nurse as needed. Oversee approximately 60 employees while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and budgetary specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Nursing degree from an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing
- Certified in Basic Life Support
- 3 or more years of current Liver/Kidney Transplant experience
- 1 or more years of leadership/supervisory experience
- Experience in clinical area of practice
- Minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory or management role
- Adherence to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certification in clinical area or management
- Background in transplant coordination
- Experienced educator
