Job Summary

Coordinate departmental functions, supply availability for procedures, and manage vendor relations to ensure appropriate instruments and equipment are present for each case. Implement and review department policies while ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements across all personnel. Partner with surgeons, materials management, and department leaders on capital equipment requests and cost containment activities. Foster open communication between staff, physicians, and other departments to promote collaborative practices and service excellence. Lead performance improvement initiatives, staff education, and onboarding efforts to enhance quality patient care and operational efficiencies.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered professional nurse
  • Licensed
  • Knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act
  • Implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association
  • Uphold the voice of the patient
  • Support service excellence goals
  • Subject matter expert to all levels of nursing staff and nursing management for facility, clinical, and surgical practices
  • Foster positive communication and collaboration practices for physicians and staff
  • Responsible for Performance Improvement and quality assurance aspects of functional area
  • Strong and effective negotiation and mediation skills
  • Leadership and management skills for a specific business/clinical unit
  • Ability to set standards and hold leaders and staff accountable for performance standards
  • Proactively establish a health work place by reducing unnecessary conflict
  • Promote and achieve positive team dynamics
  • Employ strong relationship building skills with all hospital leaders and medical staff
  • Strive to understand others (and situations)
  • Keep the long view in mind
  • Use reflective practice skills to monitor self and leader performance
  • Exercise coaching and guiding skills
