Job Summary
Assess patients on admission, at each shift, and upon condition changes while completing daily acuity tracking. Formulate nursing diagnoses, develop individualized care plans, and document expected outcomes daily. Administer medications and IV therapy per policy, delegate tasks based on scope of practice, and manage restraint use with alternative measures first. Provide patient and family education, including room orientation and knowledge deficit identification, utilizing MICROMEDEX resources. Collaborate with physicians and case managers on discharge planning and ensure all transfer paperwork is completed. Monitor complex critically ill patients, including neurosurgery, transplants, and dialysis treatments, while maintaining isolation precautions and performing advanced therapeutic modalities. Communicate effectively with the healthcare team through shift reports, physician rounds, and hand-off reports. Observe regulatory agency requirements, including National Patient Safety Goals, HIPAA, and OSHA standards. Manage time effectively to complete shifts on time while taking meal breaks without incurring overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Grandfathered from BSN if hired prior to 12/2019
- 1 year Acute inpatient hospital experience as RN
- Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently
- Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions and ability to understand, follow and successfully perform duties, including whole blood collection, and apheresis procedures, in accordance with administrative and clinical policies, regulations and procedures
- Committed to excellence in patient care and customer service
- Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision

- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
