Job Summary
Registered Nurse in Surgical ICU (7 West) working 12-hour night shifts, non-exempt, union setting. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process, conducting assessments at admission and shifts, formulating diagnoses, planning and updating care plans, administering medications and IV therapy, delegating tasks, patient advocacy, ensuring safety and compliance with policies, providing patient/family education, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Requires BSN, active RN license in California, BLS and ACLS, and strong communication; experience in acute inpatient hospital nursing is preferred. The posting notes ICU/CCU responsibilities across units and emphasizes adherence to safety, HIPAA, OSHA, and JCAHO standards, with a salary range of $44.00-$95.00 hourly. Location: Los Angeles, CA at a USC/Health Sciences Campus setting; union environment; salary is annualized from an hourly rate.
Required Qualifications
- Req Bachelor’s Degree Nursing Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Req 1 year acute inpatient hospital experience in the United States as a licensed RN
- Req Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently.
- Req Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions and ability to understand, follow and successfully perform duties, including whole blood collection, and apheresis procedures, in accordance with administrative and clinical policies, regulations and procedures.
- Req Committed to excellence in patient care and customer service.
- Req Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
- Preferred Qualifications: Pref Specialty Certification
