Job Summary
Assess patients upon admission and at each shift, completing acuity documentation by 0200/1400 daily. Formulate nursing diagnoses, develop individualized plans of care, and review outcomes to revise interventions. Administer medications and IV therapy, delegate tasks based on scope of practice, and act as patient advocate while managing restraint use per policy. Provide patient and family education, including room orientation and knowledge deficit identification, utilizing MICROMEDEX resources. Collaborate with physicians and case managers for discharge planning and transfer paperwork, ensuring all belongings are sent with the patient. Manage complex critically ill patients in ICU, stepdown, and telemetry units, including advanced therapeutic modalities like hemodynamic monitoring and CRRT. Initiate and perform dialysis treatments, conducting pre-treatment safety checks and machine maintenance. Maintain therapeutic milieu for psychiatric patients, assess for contraband, and administer psychotropic medications only after proper consent. Adhere to regulatory agency requirements, including patient safety goals, universal protocols, and infection control procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Grandfathered from BSN if hired prior to 12/2019
- 1 year Acute inpatient hospital experience as RN
- ICU and Telemetry experience
- Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently
- Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions and ability to understand, follow and successfully perform duties, including whole blood collection, and apheresis procedures, in accordance with administrative and clinical policies, regulations and procedures

- Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision
