Job Summary
Assess patients upon admission and at each shift, formulating nursing diagnoses and developing individualized plans of care with daily revisions. Administer medications and IV therapy per policy, delegate tasks based on scope of practice, and manage restraint use while ensuring complete medical order verification. Provide patient and family education, utilize MICROMEDEX resources, and collaborate with case managers on discharge planning and transfer paperwork. Manage complex critical care patients, including neurosurgery, thoracic-forgut, and transplant cases, while performing dialysis treatments, ventilator care, and hemodynamic monitoring. Maintain strict adherence to regulatory agency requirements, infection control procedures, and patient safety goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Grandfathered from BSN if hired prior to 12/2019
- Specialized/technical training
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
- 1 year Acute inpatient hospital experience as RN
- Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently
- Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions and ability to understand, follow and successfully perform duties, including whole blood collection, and apheresis procedures, in accordance with administrative and clinical policies, regulations and procedures
- Committed to excellence in patient care and customer service
- Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision
- Registered Nurse - RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date
