Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, and plan care for complex medical-surgical, ICU, and stepdown patients while administering IV therapy, medications, and advanced therapeutic modalities including dialysis treatments. Document comprehensive nursing assessments, care plans, and quality measure data daily. Collaborate with physicians and case managers on discharge planning, transfer paperwork, and patient education. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, infection control, and regulatory standards including JCAHO survey readiness. Manage behavioral restraints and therapeutic interactions for psychiatric patients as assigned. Perform shift duties within a 12-hour schedule, ensuring timely completion of all orders and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Nursing Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Grandfathered from BSN if hired prior to 12/2019
- Specialized/technical training
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
- 1 year Acute inpatient hospital experience as RN
- Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently
- Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions and ability to understand, follow and successfully perform duties, including whole blood collection, and apheresis procedures, in accordance with administrative and clinical policies, regulations and procedures
- Committed to excellence in patient care and customer service
- Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision
- Registered Nurse - RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Fire Life Safety Training (LA City)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date
