Job Summary
RN Clinical role providing therapeutic nursing care to patients across oncology/hematology/transplant units. Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation; performs patient assessments on admission, at each shift, and with changes in condition; develops and updates individualized care plans; administers medications and IV therapies; ensures accurate documentation and charting; supports discharge planning and patient/family education; adheres to safety, HIPAA, OSHA, and JCAHO guidelines; requires collaboration with interdisciplinary team and case management; BSN required with minimum one year of acute inpatient US experience; ACLS/BLS certifications and ONS Oncology certifications preferred; union, 12-hour night schedule, non-exempt, fully in-person at Los Angeles Health Sciences Campus.
Required Qualifications
- Req Bachelor’s Degree Nursing Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Req 1 year of acute inpatient hospital experience in the United States
- Req Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently
- Req Knowledge of medical procedures and conditions and ability to understand, follow and successfully perform duties, including whole blood collection, and apheresis procedures
- Req Committed to excellence in patient care and customer service
- Req Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision
- Req Registered Nurse - RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing)
- Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Req Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
- Req ONS Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Oncology units required within six months of hire
- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
