Job Summary

Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned area. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during the shift, contributing to or performing performance evaluations. Assess daily patient care needs to develop and distribute assignments for the 12-bed MICU, evaluating care effectiveness to identify issues affecting patient outcomes. Respond to patient care complaints through established channels and provide input for hiring, training, and staff development. Requires current Alabama RN licensure, BLS certification, and one year of cumulative job-specific experience. Full-time nights shift (7p-7a) at UAB St. Vincent's East.

Required Qualifications

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
  • ACLS and PALS certification
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
  • Professional licensure/certification
  • 1 year of cumulative job specific experience
