Job Summary
Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned area. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during the assigned shift, contributing to or performing performance evaluations. Assess daily patient care needs to develop and distribute assignments for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs in the 12-bed MICU. Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care, identify issues affecting outcomes, and respond to complaints through established channels. May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluating of staff. Requires current Alabama RN licensure, BLS certification within 30 days, and one year of cumulative job-specific experience. Full-time nights shift (7p-7a) at UAB St. Vincent's East.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS and PALS certification
