Job Summary
Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned area. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during the shift, including contributing to or performing performance evaluations. Assess daily patient care needs, develop and distribute assignments for the 12-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit, and evaluate the effectiveness of care to identify issues affecting desired outcomes. Respond to complaints about patient care through established channels and may provide input for hiring, training, and staff development. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of Nursing with one year of cumulative job-specific experience. Full-time nights shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. at UAB St. Vincent's East.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS and PALS certification
