Job Summary

Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned area. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during the shift, contributing to or performing performance evaluations. Assess daily patient care needs to develop and distribute assignments for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs, evaluating care effectiveness to identify issues affecting outcomes. Respond to patient care complaints through established channels and provide input for staff hiring, training, and development. This full-time night shift role (7p-7a) is located at UAB St. Vincent's East MICU, which features 12 beds managed by a dedicated intensivist team. Candidates must hold an Alabama RN license, BLS certification within 30 days, and one year of cumulative job-specific experience.

Required Qualifications

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
  • 1 year of cumulative job specific experience

Desired Qualifications

  • ACLS and PALS certification
