Job Summary
Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned area. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during the shift, contributing to or performing performance evaluations. Assess daily patient care needs, develop and distribute assignments for the 12-bed MICU, and evaluate care effectiveness to identify issues affecting patient outcomes. Respond to patient care complaints through established channels and provide input on hiring, training, and staff development. Requires current Alabama RN licensure, BLS certification within 30 days, and one year of cumulative job-specific experience. Full-time nights shift (7p-7a) at UAB St. Vincent's East, part of a dedicated intensivist team focused on complex adult and geriatric care.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS and PALS certification
