Job Summary
Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned area of the 12-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during the 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift, contributing to or performing performance evaluations. Assess daily patient care needs for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs, develop care assignments, and evaluate the effectiveness of patient care to identify issues affecting outcomes. Respond to complaints about patient care and manage them through established channels. May provide input for hiring, training, directing, and evaluating of staff.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS and PALS certification
