RN - Charge Registered Nurse - Medical Intensive Care Unit - Nights

Job Summary
Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the assigned area. Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during the 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift, contributing to or performing performance evaluations of team members. Assess daily patient care needs for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs, develop and distribute assignments, and evaluate the effectiveness of care to identify issues affecting desired outcomes. Respond to complaints about patient care and manage them through established channels. Provide input for hiring, training, directing, and evaluating staff within the 12-bed MICU. Requires current Alabama RN licensure, BLS certification within 30 days, and one year of cumulative job-specific experience.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
- ACLS and PALS certification
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- 1 year of cumulative job specific experience
- Full-time Nights- 7p-7a schedule availability
